Overdue Updated & More Adventures

Sorry to bring this Blog back, but we have exciting news... bare with us! 

Well, it has been exactly 4 months since our last blog, and those who we have on our Facebook profiles will know how busy we have both been since landing back in the UK in early April.
We have been up and down the country, working a lot of agricultural shows, horse events, festivals, motor-sports events and various other stuff.


It's been a manic 4 months for both of us, sometimes working at the same events, but occasionally Sadie has done a few herself, including Download & Blue Dot Festivals.
This has been mostly with SEP, a car parking/traffic management company who have lots of work on all over the country, and she is loving the event work and wonders why she didn't get into it years ago!

I've pretty much been non-stop too, with a few security tasks including Bearded, the Cricket World Cup and LTA Tennis in Nottingham
I am very much enjoying my new role with a ticketing company which has great benefits and I have also signed up to work with SEP as it makes it so much easier when we are both doing the same events for transport etc.

With us just spending time relaxing on a (rare) few days off, and with a hectic August ahead, and that continuing into late September, I thought I would take the time to share the exciting news of our next adventures!


 I had already mentioned on Facebook about a month ago that we had already booked tickets to Something Else In The Dunny, a lovely little festival which will see our busy summer come to an end in a field with wonderful friends. (Tickets still available so get on it if interested!)

We have also booked our flights for a short break to France, to go visit Sadie's parents which will be my first trip over there and straight after we get back from that, we get the ferry back over to France to drive down to Portugal again to spend the winter months.
This also may result in looking at potential land to buy, as due to all our hard work over the summer, we have managed to put a fair bit of cash back in to the savings account!

But by far the most exciting news is we have also booked flights to take us back out to SE Asia in January, heading out for a month to explore the one country we regretted missing on our last trip to SE Asia.....The Philippines!!


 We are so excited and can't wait to get out there!!

Continuing into Palawan

So, we had arrived at Coron Port, but the island we were on is actually called Busuanga Island, the actual Coron Island is where most of the tours go to, more on that later. Coron is part of the Calamian Islands, of which form part of the Palawan area of the Philippines, where we will be visiting the popular areas of Coron, El Nido and then leaving via the capital city Puerto Princesa. This area is known for its huge expanse of islands, mostly formed with limestone and very similar to Halong Bay in Vietnam. Our first stop here was in the middle of the town, so it was a short tricycle ride at 120 pesos to our hotel, Balaibinda Lodge and we got checked in to our room. It was decent enough, with a little garden area outside and was clean and well looked after.  Although one of the reception staff was a miserable sod, we had a pleasant time here for the 3 nights we had booked. 5 months gone!

 Yet another short monthly update, it's now 5 months (22 weeks) since being back in the UK so here is what's happened since last the last blog. We splashed out and got some new crockery and new saucepans, frying pan etc as we were fed up using the ones we had since getting Daisy which actually came with her! Daisy got a few more bits of work done for the MOT, including front brake pipes & hoses, caliper and the previously mentioned power steering issue was just a pipe which saved us a lot of money.  Anyway she passed her MOT first time, with only a couple of advisories which will be sorted soon, so that's a relief and now means her MOT is a July date which suits us better as we will be in the UK around that time each year. So with the MOT done and the leak fixed, we took off up to the Peak District for an overnight stay at a pub campsite, just to get out of the city for a bit and also I had a couple of DIY jobs needing doing which required hook up. Bombay, a bit of North Goa and then down to South Goa

Bombay – so just like last time we were going to be visiting my childhood friend Caroline (Cotton) but this time she had moved to the much more central location of Bandra West. It reminded me a bit of hipster London as we travelled past craft beer places and small arty cafes, her apartment is a lovely old building with multiple balconies, 3 bedrooms and a large open plan kitchen, 3 crazy cats, a hamster with 1 ball, her husband Anshuman and daughter Saira. We didn’t really do much whilst we were there as we were still recovering from Soundstorm but we managed to get some work stuff organised on the laptops, get used to the constant sound of honking car / tuk horns, adapt a bit to the stifling heat and got SIM cards from the Vodafone shop – Got a family deal so 2 physical SIMs and 2 virtual SIMs with about 260gb of data across them each month, texts, calls etc for only £10 a month – this is a post-paid account so needs a residential Indian address.
